On 18 May 2022, KENCO Technical Assistance and Training Solutions, Inc, turned one! To celebrate, on Saturday 21 May 2022, the Board hosted a Grand Launch & Networking Event on the rooftop of the Bartlett in Arlington, Virginia. The event was as much of a celebration as it was a professional networking event! The Board was intentional with their invitations, with more than 75% of the invites being sent to students studying Supply Chain Management, fellow Supply Chain professionals (entry to senior management level), professionals interested in a career in supply chain, as well as other small business owners in the DC-Metro area.
Each guest received 'swag bags' filled with KENCO TATS goodies, such as a mask, hand sanitizer, pen, chocolates and an interactive brochure. Those who arrived between 6:00pm - 6:45pm received extra goodies - an extra drink ticket plus a bag of Double Good popcorn!
The first 75 minutes of the event were dedicated to enjoying catered heavy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails from the bar, and networking while enjoying music from South and West Africa.
At 7:15pm, the Board of KENCO TATS kicked off the event with each Board Member introducing themselves, their interest and/or current career path in Supply Chain Management as well as sharing a statistic regarding minorities, women, and veterans in Supply Chain Management as recently published by Gartner.
After introductions, from 7:30 - 9:00pm, guests were encouraged to make meaningful connections through various activities, networking BINGO included fun squares to ensure introductions were made, photos were taken with a new peer, and at least three new connections were made! Winning was based on the most squares completed to ensure all continuous interaction amongst guests. And of course, guests were highly encouraged to get on the dance floor, dancing to Hip-Hop, West African and Latin dance music!
The evening ended at 9:00pm with the announcement of the winners of the silent auction, which raised almost $500.00 for KENCO TATS and of course, a toast of bubbly!
